Qld Govt unveils recycled water pipeline consortia
The State Government has announced the preferred builders of a recycled water pipeline in south-east Queensland.
The project will deliver supplies to power stations and other industries to free up 200 million litres a day of drinking water.
Two consortia made of five different companies will now start design work and cost estimates.
Acting Premier Anna Bligh says construction is on track to begin early next year.
"Obviously there are some pressures in the market on materials and on skills, but in this case the pipes are already being constructed out at Tyco at Wacol so there's no delay on those materials and the companies concerned have in place the necessary labour to get these projects done," she said.
